My blogging is quite weak these days.  I spose it’s cos nothing much happens in my life, and the things that do happen are the same things that always happen.  Routine is something that as humans we search for because it provides us with comfort.  Sometimes it is mad, and sometimes it is lame.  Like our Friday routines after school was always ridiculously awesome.

I’m not sure if you remember Fridays in years eleven and twelve, but they were always pretty bad.  Timetable wise that is.  There was always double maths and occasionally double English and stuff.  But that didn’t matter cos it was still easily the best day of the week anyways because of the routine it had.  Double maths was nowhere as bad as it should’ve been, specially in my days in math 1, cos after Mrs. O’Reilly taught for the first period, she let us ‘work’ for the second, and cos work is boring, our awesome front row consisting of Phat, Don, Mike and myself would take the pile of unused newsletters and play waste paper basketball off the wall.  We’d go for banks, swishes, double/triple hit deflections - the whole lot.  And cos we sat at the front of class, Mrs. O’Reilly would talk ridiculous trash talk every time we missed, which seemed to happen a lot.  Great times.

But the real fun didn’t start until after school.  So school would end and Bryan, James and myself would stay behind to wait for Gaby to finish ISCF so we could chill at his place before Hills that night.  We would play basketball or make up some mad games which involved basketball, and chill after grabbing pizza until ISCF finished.  The cheese pizza that I would down there would always come back to bite me during our game at night, but that didn’t really matter cos it was awesome.

And then sometimes we’d venture out to Parramatta to chill there, where we’d do another routine.  This one would involve chilling at Hungry Jacks (any of you that have been there know that it is mad), and then heading off to Foot Locker to look at the Hyperdunks.  Every time we’d pick it up and go “woah look how light it is!” and pass it on to someone else who’d go “Damn that’s crazy light!”  Every time.

And then we’d head off to Gaby’s house to watch movies/woop Bryan at PS2 on something.  That was always enjoyable.  And Time Crisis.  Playing Time Crisis with the little guns and hiding behind Gaby’s pillows as cover is something you just have to do sometime.  Too good.

And then the walk to hills past the cemetery and the haunted stuff late at night.  And the time Bryan said that he could walk it in his singlet.  And naturally, I couldn’t let him think he was the strongest, so I did it too.  It was freezing, but neither of us could admit it.  But I think the colds we got that night told the story for us.

And that was all before the actual basketball game.  It’s amazing how sometimes in life you just don’t want to change.  The good things I spose.  But they seem to be the only ones that do, and the ones that you wish would change, stay the same.  The grass is always greener on the other side.  Always.

Anyways, uni is approaching, and so change is inevitable.  The last couple of months have been pretty turbulent and I spose we’ll settle back into routine soon enough.  We have to get used to our new lives of adulthood, taking care of our selves and drinking coffee at cafes.  I’m not very good at those kinds of thing, specially the cafe thing, but one of my favourite awesomest things of all time is sitting down at a maccas or a hungry jacks just to talk.  Maybe cafes have a similar effect, just you have a coffee instead of a milkshake, and you read poetry instead of MAD magazine or something.  Something else that is crazy is the fact that very soon many of us are gonna be finding people we’ll end up marrying and stuff.  It’s amazing that how for a lot of us, it will be someone we haven’t even met yet, but soon we’ll end up living with them.  Crazy.

PS. I know you guys already know this, but just to say it again, I call dibs on best man at everyone’s wedding plus also being the favourite uncle to your kids.  I’m gonna be the cool uncle with heaps of money and nothing to spend it on, so I buy your kids all this cool stuff and play with them heaps and teach them how to give dap appropriately and let them watch M15+ movies when they are 14 and stuff.  OK maybe not the last one without you guys’ permission.  But you get the idea.

On a completely different note, I just saw some girl on Ellen called Shelby Dressel or something who got cut from American Idol, but I reckon she has the most beautiful voice.  Girls who can sing are crazy.

Oh yeah, something else, I know you guys don’t like cricket much, but in 3 Saturdays from today, (I think it’s the 13th of March?) some of the homes are coming to watch me play cricket.  I’ve got about 5 people so far, but if you don’t wanna come it’s all cool cos I know cricket takes forever and it’s not really a fav time spender or whatever.  The other day Gaby came to watch me, which was plain wicked and thanks a million to Gaby for it.  He didn’t see me bowl, and just saw us lose which gives me the shits all the time.  I hate to lose.  But I love it when people come to watch me.  Once my dad came to watch me.  That was cool.  Anyways, we are playing the USyd team at USyd, so that’s why we are doing that day in particular.  But yeah, if you guys are bored, yeah.

Anyways, uni starts next week, and stuff, so I hope everyone has a wicked time in adult world.  I spose we aren’t little anymore even though we are still only 18 or 17.   It’s amazing how we are so young, and we are considered so old.  I spose you always wanna be young cos it’s way more fun, but you know, things change.  I spose the funnest part about being old will be playing with you guys’ kids and stuff and teaching them to play cricket for Australia.  Kidding.  But if they do like cricket, I can offer you guys mates’ rates on coaching (free).  Anyways, I just blogged today without anything to say really, but just cos I wanted to blog, I spose that’s why it’s so long and boring and nothing really said.  It’s crazy how in high school it’d take me forever to right an essay and now i just peel off 1200 words easy.  Crazy world.
